Full Staff Music’s School of Music specializes in private music instruction for students of all ages and skill levels. We believe that private lessons are the best way for a student to learn an instrument; the one-on-one instruction means that students have the undivided attention of the teacher and the lessons can be customized to the student’s pace, learning style, interests, and goals. Our instructors are among the best in the area with college degrees in music, extensive performance experience in a variety of styles, and fun, outgoing personalities. We offer 30 minute and
1 hour lessons at our convenient downtown St. Charles location. We invite you to join our positive and encouraging studio to learn music, have fun, and build skills that will last a lifetime!
GUITAR & BASS LESSONS
Our private lessons include acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and bass. Students can start from age 7, typically at this age they have the hand and wrist strength and refined motor skills needed to play these instruments. We welcome students of all ages and skill levels, from brand new to music to advanced – remember, it’s never too late to start learning!
We have a large and excellent group of talented instructors on staff that teach lessons in all popular styles including pop, rock, metal, jazz, blues, and country. Our instructors are college trained musicians so they know the proper theory and technique no matter what style a student is interested in. They are also performing musicians so they enhance lessons with performing basics such as jam sessions, improv strategies, and soloing techniques. As we have so many instructors on staff, we can help match students to a particular instructor based on skill level and interests. Students are encouraged to bring in music they are interested in learning along the way. No matter what level you’re starting at, or what style you want to play, we have the teachers to help you learn and have fun!
Our private lessons include drums and school percussion. Students take their drum lessons on a full-size acoustic drum kit. Typically students do not start drum lessons before age 8, as they need to be able to reach both the bass drum pedal and the hi-hat and be able meet the physical coordination of using all 4 limbs at once (in the past, we have had younger students take lessons successfully, so we suggest a trial lesson for younger students to see if they are big enough to get started).
We take students of all skill levels from very beginner to advanced. Our college trained instructors teach the necessary theory, technique, and coordination for students to be able to play hundreds of beats and rhythms for pop, rock, metal, jazz, funk, blues, and country music. As we have so many instructors on staff, we can help match students to a particular instructor based on skill level and interests. Students are encouraged to bring in music they are interested in learning along the way. We also teach and can help prepare students for school percussion on snare drum and mallet percussion.
We offer private piano instruction for ages 6 and onwards. We accept students of all skill levels from brand new to music to advanced. We offer every style of lessons from classical to pop/rock to jazz. Our instructors are college trained so they are able to teach the proper theory and technique, and they come from a variety of backgrounds so we are able to match students with an instructor based on abilities and interest. Students are encouraged to bring in music they are interested in learning along the way.
Private vocal instruction is an increasingly popular program at our school for children ages 10 and older and adults. Our instructors specialize in pop, rock, and theater vocals and focus on the general enjoyment of singing. Students learn proper breathing, posture, and pitch, as well as how to project and increase their range and develop a stronger sense of musicality all while learning their favorite songs!
Our private violin & viola lessons start from age 6 onwards. Our instructors are college trained and actively perform in ensembles and as soloists. Our instructors take students of all skill levels and can design lessons to supplement and aid students in school orchestra programs, prepare them for competitions and performances, or to help those from very beginning to advanced become proficient players and to have fun!
CLARINET & SAXOPHONE LESSONS
Our private clarinet and saxophone lessons start from age 10 onwards, since students younger than age 10 typically do not have the lung capacity and strength to handle these instruments. Our clarinet and saxophone instructors are college trained and actively perform in bands, ensembles, and as soloists. Our instructors take students of all skill levels and can design lessons to supplement and aid students in school band programs, prepare them for competitions and performances, or to help those from very beginning to advanced become proficient players and to have fun!
